Years ago we honeymooned in Hawaii. We snorkeled with the sea turtles, sailed with the whales, took surfing lessons and drove the road to Hana. Thinking back on our trip, although we experienced some of the most incredible attractions The Aloha State has to offer, nothing takes me back to that vacation as fast as fresh pineapple and warm banana bread.
Happy 4th of July! I hope that you are grilling hot dogs and hamburgers with your friends and neighbors today. Or maybe taking my Key Lime Coconut Bars to the pool this afternoon (like I am).
I get asked all the time how I come up with new recipes. What's my inspiration? It may sound strange but I am really inspired by the items that are about to go bad in my pantry. I can't stand to waste food so if something is on it's last days, I'll figure out a recipe to use it.
