Fairytale Fern and White Linen Luncheon for The Scout Guide
I'm so excited for everyone to finally see this Fairytale Fern and White Linen Luncheon I recently styled for The Scout Guide Nashville. Check out their blog at nashville.thescoutguide.com/blog this morning for the complete shoot and story! Special thanks to Amy Cherry of Amy Nicole Photography for the beautiful photos.
Several weeks ago I went and toured the O'More's Franklin Showhouse and noticed that in almost every room, each designer used ferns to add life to each space. It inspired me to throw a party with delicate ferns as the centerpiece. I decided to plant them in my mom's collection of antique white pitchers and loved how they cascaded down the long linen-covered farm table, seeming as though the wooded trails of a fairy tale had been brought indoors.
I love the combination of rustic charm with elevated elegance. Relaxed white linens, crystal candle sticks with white tapers peaking through the lush fern centerpiece, champagne in hammered crystal flutes and wooden paddles from West Elm in leu of traditional plates.
I served Zucchini Soup with Crème Fraîche and Cilantro, Cucumber Tea Sandwiches with Lemon and Dill, Vanilla Bean Macaroons from The Painted Cupcake and homemade Coconut Cake.
Even the drinks coordinated with the theme and decor of the event: Cucumber Water, Fresh Green Tea with Mint and Champagne.
Special thanks to The Registry, Digs Interiors, The Iron Gate and The Barn Door Co. for supplying all the gorgeous props for the photoshoot. I wanted to keep everything! Go to nashville.thescoutguide.com/blog for a complete "shop the party" list.
Place card calligraphy by my super-talented girlfriend, Abi McGinnis of Abigail T. Calligraphy and a huge thanks to my mom for letting me completely rearrange her kitchen. :)
