Five Friday Finds: Watercolor, Sweets in Bright Colors and Learning to Cook

It's been a little while since I've posted my Friday faves ... we've been traveling a bit and I've gotten a little off track. I'm back and totally inspired by the Spring that feels like it's ALMOST here. My tulips and daffodils are blooming and Easter is just around the corner. It makes me crave color and light and fresh meals that we can enjoy on the patio. 1. I love to watercolor and have a weakness for the look of it. I found this stunning wallpaper on Pinterest and am thinking a wall in my studio might need wallpapering ;). Nashville's Chelsea Petaja of Oh My Deer Handmade's has the most beautiful hand-pinned prints. I picked this one up for a friend at Porter Flea and love not only the way it looks but also the lovely E.E. Cummings quote. Lastly, I am dying over this watercolor wrapping paper from Rifle Paper Co. Best part? It's pink watercolor on one side and aqua watercolor on the other—ordering more today.  Also, check out this watercolor themed baby shower I threw for a girlfriend.

2. PIE still reigns true on my Instagram as my Key Lime Pie from Tuesday holds the top spot. Recipe here.

My Pinterest followers must be craving color because my photo of macaroons from The Painted Cupcake went crazy this week. I love them too ...

3. I got a gift in the mail this week from a very sweet friend—Donna Hay's new cookbook, Fresh and Light. I want to cook everything in it and, well, have Donna Hay adopt me. Gushing.

4. Since The Viking in Franklin closed I have been so sad that there is not a place to take cooking classes here in town—not true! Nashville Lifestyles (my old stomping grounds) put together a list of Nashville's top cooking classes. So excited to try some.

5.My nephew turns one next week and my sister-in-law is throwing him a zoo themed birthday party—I can't wait! It reminded me of this stuffed-animal themed party that Martha Stewart threw her granddaughter several years ago. While my nephew's party is going to be bright colors and lots of kids running around outside, I just think the look of this party is adorable (not really realistic for a children's party) but adorable none-the-less. Blog Posts from the week: Tortilla Chip Chicken Salad with Jalapeño Lime Dressing Key Lime Pie with White Macadamia Nut Crust
