This Weekend: LIGHT at Cheekwood
What are you up to this weekend? If you haven't been out to see LIGHT: Bruce Munro at Cheekwood, GO! GO this weekend!
It is not only a beautiful art instillation but a delightful family experience. Jacobs and I had a blast a couple of months ago wandering the gardens. We were actually invited to attend the media preview and a private tour by the artist himself. Munro was so friendly and down-to-earth. It made his art even more enjoyable to know that he doesn't take himself too seriously and doesn't intend for his art to have some incredibly deep meaning ... it is just there for you to enjoy, not over-complicate.
Plus it made Vogue's list of 31 Ways to Make the Most of Summer. Big round of applause to Cheekwood for the national attention. We always knew you were great ...
Here are some of my photos from the exhibit:
Here's a map to plan your attack. The exhibit is open through November 10 (would be so fun this fall when the nights start getting cool) and admission is $15 per person. Friday nights are open late (until 11 p.m.) and include live music and cash bars throughout the gardens. We might just see you there tonight!
