Bakery Inspired Bridesmaids' Brunch
Last weekend I helped my mom and sister host a bridesmaids' brunch for our beautiful cousin, Julianna. I was so excited that they had decided on a brunch because I LOVE breakfast/brunch food and think it is so much easier to design a menu around brunch favorites.
I pulled theme/decor inspiration from one of my favorite things: hot pink bakery boxes (you can order them in bulk from Nashville Wraps or buy them individually at Sugar Drop in Brentwood).
My sister hand delivered tiny bakery boxes filled with cupcakes and mini macarons from The Painted Cupcake with the brunch invitations attached. With only 12 people on the guest list, we decided to do something over-the-top and treat the ladies to something special. Edible invitations? Done.
I decorated my mom's long farm table with a mix of pink bakery boxes, vintage cake stands and hot pink garden roses. Height and drama was added with two 36" white balloons anchored by satin ribbon. The cake stands were adored with brunch favorites—a huge tower of waffles, homemade biscuits with jam, and a big stack of Krispy Kreme doughnuts.
Brunch consisted of ham and cheese croissants, mini frittatas and fruit and granola parfaits served in pink depression glass. Guests enjoyed homemade cranberry-orange and cheddar-dill scones with mimosas, tea and coffee as they arrived. This was NOT a party without food! We used the bakery boxes that had been used as decoration to pack up the left over baked goods to send them home with guests.
The roses from Import Flowers were over-the-top gorgeous! I am still enjoying them all around my house.
Keeping with the bakery theme, place cards were sugar cookies iced with each guest's name (by Baked By Ash). They served double time as favors—I'm pretty sure not one of them made it home though as everyone ate them before they left!
