Styling My Everyday

Once Upon a Baby Shower

This past weekend the most amazing women (my girlfriends and sister) combined forces and threw me the loveliest baby shower. Since I'm the one usually throwing and styling parties, it was hard for me to sit back and not participate in the planning (even though I tried!). They did the most beautiful job without my help and I couldn't wait to show you a little snip-it of it here.

EntryTable

I adore the "guest book" they sent home with me. It is a vintage book of fairy tales where everyone wrote a wish for the baby. I am going to sit down tonight and write my wish to her in it too. I can't wait for her to read them one day and know how much she is loved ... even before she arrived.

Flowers

Even though it's late October, we had the most beautiful 75 degree day. The house was bursting with flowers and white pumpkins (my favorite) and guests were greeted with cups of tea served in fine china and champagne.

Food

The food was adorable and delicious: Smoked salmon on toast points, finger sandwiches, veggies in individual cups, lemon bars, mini chocolate mocha pies and the show-stopping centerpiece cake shaped like a pumpkin (which my sister meticulously carved and iced ... must run in the family).

I loved the two GIANT white pumpkins that were hulled out. One for an amazing flower arrangement on the gift table and the other filled with ice and bottles of champagne. Just lovely.

Presents

A special thank you to all the girls that helped put the party together (two of which have websites of their own: abigailtcalligraphy.com and hotchildstudio.com) and to all the amazing women who will play such a pivotal role in my daughter's life.

Jacobs and I are so blessed to have such an incredible group of friends and family to help celebrate our little addition. We are eternally grateful and over-the-moon about what the next couple months has to bring!
