Girls' Night Out featured on Draper James
Whoever said whiskey is just for the boys never met a Southern girl! I recently gathered my girlfriends for a handsome girls night out at Homestead Manor's Glass Bar. This Draper James Southern Whiskey Tasting was totally dapper enough for the gentlemen but perfectly planned for the ladies.
Here’s a tiny taste of the festivities. For more pictures and details, head to draperjames.com.
I was so excited to team up with Brooke from kbstyled.com on this fun photoshoot for Draper James. I was determined to make Girls' Night Out so laid back that it felt like a night out with the guys. A whiskey tasting complete with deer antlers and hunting dogs in a rustic bar did the trick!
I set an intimate dinner table in Homestead Manor's Glass Bar with an elegant rustic sensability that felt both chic and relaxed. Spode Woodland Dog dishes combine feminine florals with masculine hunting dog motifs and wooden chargers, coasters, and gold-detailed flatware added texture. I loved the moss table runner flecked with river rocks, deer antlers, and barley twist candlesticks holding long gray tapers that made for an elegant eclectic mix.
Nashville based design duo, Tenn Hens Design, captured the feel of the party perfectly with an invitation suite that presented antlers and woodgrain with a feminine flair. The watercolor Draper James logo and calligraphed personal touches were irresistible.
Menus at each place setting highlighted a selected dinner of some of Homestead Manor’s favorites. A pomegranate apple salad and short ribs were a hearty pairing to follow a whiskey tasting. A salted caramel pecan fudge pie left everyone with a sweet memory of a special evening together. Get the recipe HERE.
Who are we kidding, with Draper James involved it's all about the fashion! While the early months of spring are still chilly, denim looks great layered and can easily be dressed up. This was the perfect party for guests to rock jeans with cowboy boots or their favorite pair of sassy heels. Silk blouses with tailored tweed accents felt dressy enough for a dinner party yet relaxed for a fun night of whiskey with the girls. Shop all the fashions from the photoshoot HERE!
